Required Documents for Kenya Seaman eTA
To apply for your seaman eTA, you need:
- Passport Bio Page: A clear scan of the passport bio page. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months and have at least one blank page.
- Applicant Photo: A recent, coloured passport-size photograph of the applicant.
- Accommodation Proof: Provide a guest house or hotel booking confirmation as an evidence of where the traveller will stay in Kenya.
- Crew ID or Seaman Book: Submit either a valid fishing vessel operator or employer-issued Crew IDor a valid Seaman Book.
- Host ID Card: A valid identification card for the Kenyan host. The host may be the fishing company, vessel operator, employer, or a sponsoring organisation.
- Round-Trip Travel Booking:The applicable document
must contain dates of your entry into and exit from Kenya. Submit
one of the following documents:
- If Travelling by Air: A confirmed flight ticket is required with clear passenger details.
- If Travelling by Cruise: A cruise booking confirmation is needed with legible guest and cruise details.
- If Travelling by Land: Submit either a bus ticket / tour operator booking confirmation / Request letter for travel.
Note: A travel request letter is needed only in case the visitor is travelling by his own vehicle.

How to Apply for a Kenya Seaman eTA

Apply and Submit Documents
Fill out the Kenya eTA online application form, select your eTA type as “Seaman eTA” from the drop-down list and upload all the required documents.
Make Payment
Pay the applicable eTA fee securely using a debit or credit card or PayPal. A payment confirmation receipt will be sent by email.
Receive Your Approved eTA
Once processing is complete, the approved eTA will be sent directly to your email. Print a copy and carry it with you when travelling to Kenya.
